TUGSS Health Services Research

TUGSS Health Services Research (HSR) was set up by Dr Yitka Graham to extend the breadth of research and knowledge exchange within Upper Gastrointestinal disciplines. Health Services Research is a clinical discipline, recognized by the UK’s National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). It is concerned with the organization and delivery of health services, with five subthemes of:

1.       Workforce Development

2.       Patient Experience

3.       Quality Improvement

4.       Patient Safety

5.       Implementation Sciences

The TUGSS Health Services Research Group focuses on research and issues facing the provision of Upper GI surgery globally, and works collaboratively with the other TUGSS groups to support members and support activities when a service element is required.
